  •  Eligibility:

*    Open to active Psi Beta student members and faculty advisors, alone or as a team.

*    The nominee(s)/team may be nominated by self, chapter officer, the faculty advisor or the college administration.

  • Award: A plaque of recognition.  

  • Requirements for Selection:  

*    A letter of recommendation from nominator

*     A one-page typed description of the innovative, resourceful, and useful lecture(s), program(s), event(s) or project(s) that uniquely promoted the quality of two-year college life and advanced the discipline of psychology and the mission of Psi Beta, implemented by the nominee(s).

  • Ideas:

*    Format could be a forum, day of lectures, workshops, research project, poster presentations.

*     Select topics in relevant  areas of psychology (i.e., cyberspace, environmental, police, sports, violence in schools).

*    Involve psychology with the humanities, i.e., exhibit Psychology Art and Photography or highlight national leaders of APA, APS, Psi Beta as a part of their history.

*    Create academic support programs or research, i.e., higher retention rates of students.

*    Address careers in psychology.

*    Use themes of APA and APS presidential initiatives, i.e., women in science and technology, psychology and law, prescription privileges.
